Lunch & Learn on April 12

Lunch & Learn on April 12

April 12:  Noon – 2:00 p.m.  Lunch and Learn

Come for a light lunch during the Wednesday of Holy Week at noon, then we’ll walk to VCU’s Cabell Library for the “pop-up” art exhibit of Art 180’s Performing Statistics.  This art exhibit is created and will be staffed by current and formerly incarcerated youth, discussing their lives, identities and experiences.

This Lunch and Learn is offered in connection with our reading of Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson.  The 2016-17 VCU Common Read book examines the redeeming potential of mercy, lived out in our life and actions. Stevenson was a young attorney when he founded the Equal Justice Initiative, dedicated to defending the poor, wrongly condemned, and those trapped in the furthest reaches of our criminal justice system.  This book is a collection of stories and reflections on his experience.

Please RSVP to Sarah Price (skprice@vcu.edu) by Sunday, April 9th (Palm Sunday) so enough lunch can be prepared.
