Franz Schubert (1797-1828) was an Austrian composer. He died before his 32nd birthday, but was extremely prolific during his lifetime. His compositions include over six hundred secular vocal works (mostly Lieder), seven symphonies, sacred music, operas, and chamber and piano music. The Mass No. 3 in B-flat major was composed in 1815. Schubert is considered among the greatest composers of the late Classical and early Romantic periods.
Our rich tradition of excellent music includes children, youth, and adults in several choirs and music ensembles. Our concert series draws hundreds of people to Grace and Holy Trinity each year for the concerts and special worship services. Our next concert, “A Journey through Song Exploring Love and Loss” is April 29 at 4:00 p.m. featuring four of Capital Opera Richmond’s leading ladies. We are proud to be the rehearsal home of the Greater Richmond Children’s Choir.
