Education

Pilgrimage Interest Meeting – January 15
On January 15th, at 9:30 a.m. in the first floor classroom there will be an interest meeting for the youth pilgrimage this coming summer. This year, we are hoping to connect to our American Episcopal history culminating with a trip to the National Cathedral. Please join us for more information as we gauge interest and dream of the road ahead. A recording of the meeting will be available for those unable to attend. Questions? Contact Kyle Bomar.

Confirmation Retreat – January 22
On January 22nd from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. we will have our next Confirmation Retreat at Roslyn Center. The confirmands will be exploring what it means to be an Episcopalian. If you would like more information about how you or your youth could be involved please contact Kyle Bomar.

Parish Life

Holy Strollers – January 20
On Friday, January 20th, the Holy Strollers will journey on a round-trip walk from Grace & Holy Trinity to Belle Isle. We will meet in the church parking lot at 9:00 a.m. sharp. The total distance is about three and a half miles, including a short hillside portion near the river. Please note there are steps at both ends of the walkway to the island. No portion of the walk is particularly difficult. More than 150 years ago, Belle Isle was the site of a Civil War prisoner of war camp which received more than 20,000 soldiers, of which about 1,000 people died while held there. Ponder Richmond’s past and present at this attractive spot within the James River Park System. The walk will take approximately two to two and a half hours. We plan to return to church no later than 11:30 a.m. You will want to layer up in warm comfortable clothes, walking shoes or boots,  and bring water. If you have questions or would like to attend, please contact Susan Hankins.

Parents’ Night Out – March 17
Parents’ Night Out continues on March 17th, 2023. Parents, please plan to drop off your children of all ages at the church for an evening of fun and fellowship. Childcare is provided from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and dinner is provided. Parents are invited to gather from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (location TBA) before you go off to enjoy your evening. If you would like to sign up, you can do at ghtc.org/PNO.

Outreach

VCU Commonwealth Singers & Yale Glee Club Concert – January 14
The VCU Commonwealth Singers and the Yale Glee Club will perform a concert on Saturday, January 14th, at 3:00 p.m. in the church. After a year in which nearly all of the Glee Club’s activities were virtual, the 2021-22 season saw them return to in-person singing, public concerts, and even a concert tour to California. To kick off 2023, the Glee Club is touring the mid-Atlantic, with concerts in Washington, D.C. and Richmond, VA. A local performance by Yale’s principal undergraduate mixed chorus and oldest musical organization happens only once in a blue moon. Admission is free – all are welcome to attend!
