Lectio Divina – November 16
Lectio Divina meets weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the upcoming Gospel for the following Sunday. If you would like to join, please contact Beth McClelland or Mary Ann Blankenship.

Christmas Memorial Poinsettias
As we prepare for Christmas, we invite you to make a donation for one or more poinsettias in memory of someone who is deceased. Please visit our Give page and select the “memorial” fund, and enter your loved one’s name in the “note” section. The cost is whatever you would like to contribute, and the memorial names will be printed in the Christmas Eve bulletins. The deadline to submit is December 11th. Your donations support the work of the Altar Guild. You may also contact Judy Bowman in the church office at (804) 359-5628 x14.

Harvest on the Altar
This Sunday’s harvest table is given to the glory of God, and in loving memory of Rowan Francis by Bev Eggleston. If you would like to remember or honor a loved one by giving the altar flowers, please contact Judy Bowman at 804-359-5628 (ext. 14), with dates and specific requests (such as colors and/or particular flowers). The cost is $100. You may mail a check or handle the cost online at

Parish Forum – December 4

Parish Life

Spirited Sisters – November 14
Spirited Sisters, a women’s group of the parish, will meet next on Monday, November 14th at 5:30 p.m. at Burger Bach in Carytown for lively conversation and a meal. If you are interested in attending contact Cathy Saunders.

Spirited Sisters Book Club – November 16
The Spirited Sisters Bookclub will meet on Wednesday, November 16th at 4:00 Mary Ann Blankenship’s home. We will discuss Rhapsody by Virginia author Mitchell James Kaplan. Rhapsody is the fictionalized story of the decades-long relationship between composer George Gershwin and musician Kay Swift.  In December we will read The Silent Patient and in January The Souls of Black Folk. For more information, contact Judy Carlson or Mary Ann Blankenship.

Men’s Group Coffee – November 19
The Men’s Group will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19th at Ellwood Thompson’s in Carytown. A variety of coffee options, bagels, and pastries are available for purchase at the cafe. No agenda, but a simple get together.

Advent Wreath-Making: Bring Your Greens – November 27
On Sunday, November 27th, in between morning services, the whole parish is invited to join Mrs. Catherine Perrin and Mrs. Kate Given in making Advent Wreaths. Please bring clippings of greens (boxwood, holly, evergreens, etc) from your yard to share, and bring your own clippers too to be sure we have enough to go around. We will provide wreath forms, candles, instruction, and encouragement.

Red Door Ministry Coat & Glove Drive
As the winter months approach, Red Door is seeking donations of coats, gloves, and scarves for Richmonders in need. Please drop off any new or gently used winter gear at the service ministry box between the elevator and the kitchen.

Red Door Thanksgiving with Shood – November 25
Shood will be here on Friday, November 25th, to give slightly used reconditioned athletic shoes to our Red Door visitors at noon. Shood is a non-profit founded by GHTC parishioner Robin Telfian, and operated in partnership with Jeff Wells, owner of two Fleet Feet stores in the area. “Shood makes gently used, high-quality shoes available to those in need through a pop-up shopping experience throughout Richmond, Virginia.”
