b'who we areGrace and Holy Trinity Church acknowledges the foundation of who we are as lovelove of God and love of our neighbor, according to Jesuss summary of the law as it is given to us in Matthew 22:36-40. Therefore, we are called to share the love of God and of one another, both with each other and with the community we live in. From this foundation, we have identified four supporting pillars around which our programs and ministries are shaped.T hese four pill a r s a r e WO R S H IP, E D U CAT I ON , PARISH LIFE ,a n d O U T R E AC HworshipCO NFIRM AT IO Nprepa rati o n f o r co n f i r m a ti o nOn the first Sunday in June, The Rt. Rev. Susan Ellyn Goff confirmed twelve parishioners who had been preparing for this sacramental rite with the guidance of Kyle Bomar, our clergy, and numerous parishioners. We laid out a roadmap for the goals in a booklet. On one weekend day in each of the first four months of this year, we met for a half- or whole-day retreat, during each of which we asked a single question for discussion, and then assigned independent projects to the candidates, who reported the results. Each retreat led with one of these four questions, in order: What is Confirmation? What is Christianity? What does it mean to be an Episcopalian? and What does it mean to be part of GHTC? Numerous adult parishioners connected with the fourteen young people and three adults by sharing their commitment to Christianity and what this parish means to them. Those mentors included the Wardens, several retired clergy people; members of the Vestry, the Altar Guild, and the choir. Beth Davis, Choirmaster and Organist, talked about music as a spiritual part of worship, and longtime member Fielding Williams taught them parish history. We are most grateful to everyone who gave so generously of themselves to make this essential preparation so meaningful to all of us.Contact: Kyle Bomarkbomar@ghtc.org4 | FALL 2022'
