b'Us her sContact: Clay Hilbert | clay@aowealth.comUshers warmly welcome congregants to GHTC at the door of the nave for the 10:30 a.m. service, and pass out the bulletins. We help spread joy and set the tone for our friends experiences at church that day. We keep track of the total number of congregants at each service for the churchs attendance records and for those who are preparing communion. During the service, we collect offerings from the congregation and deposit them in the churchs safe. We try to have four ushers each Sunday. We fill spots for the upcoming month in advance by sending an email to the pool of volunteers. We would love to add your name to the volunteer email list. The time requirement is minimal, but the reward is great.educationChild ren &Yo u n gFa mi l i esContact: Kate Given, Children & Young Families Minister | kgiven@ghtc.orgOh! I know this story! In Sunday School back in September, we unrolled the story of Creation to this excited refrain. Each fall, we tell the stories of the Old Testament. Like the grown-ups in church, we hear the same stories told in a cycle. The children, much like their parents, respond well to this familiarity. This fall, our average attendance in Sunday School increased to ten, with some Sundays hosting as many as fifteen children. In 2022, we introduced some new elements in Childrens Ministry, but also leaned on the tried-and-true. The newly added Parents Night Out events have been a great success, hosting an average of sixteen children, and providing fellowship for an average of ten families. The Christmas Pageant showcased a familiar tradition, and this year, thirty-three children participated with the support of seven volunteers. Other highlights included Ponies & Palms on Palm Sunday, the children leading worship on Children & Youth Sundays, and the Grace & Holy-Ween celebration. Our outstanding team of staff and volunteers makes all of this possible. We celebrate this joyful year in Childrens Ministry, and look forward to the continuation of the familiar rhythm as the year moves on.
