b'Pr oper ty Co mmitteeSubmitted by Andrew Peacock | peacockandrewj@gmail.comThe most significant project that the Property Committee oversaw was the renovation of the sanctuary floor by Creative Contracting. The decades old carpet was removed and the underlying floor patched as necessary. This involved replacement of various floorboards and reconstruction of an area that had suffered termite damage. The floor was then repainted with two coats of wear resistant paint. We organized two parish work days, one in the summer and one in Advent. Amongst the tasks performed by members of the congregation were a deep cleaning of the kitchen, replacement of felt pads on the pew kneelers, cleaning the woodwork in the chapel, replacement of missing buttons on pew cushions, cleaning the parking lot, repainting the disabled parking symbols in the parking lot and removing several dead branches stuck in the oak tree that threatened to fall on cars.An automatic door opener was installed on the rear door by the elevator.Termite infestation is an ongoing concern in a building as large and old as our church. In the fall of the year, we had the facilities surveyed for termite damage. We contracted with a new provider to treat the damaged areas found and provide ongoing termite control.En dowmentSubmitted by Nelson Lankford | nelsonlank@gmail.comThe Grace & Holy Trinity Endowment was created in 1947 with funds from the sale of the Churchs Rectory. The Endowment exists solely for the purpose of supporting our church. At present, the Endowment comprises ten funds that are all professionally managed by Davenport Asset Management. The trustees oversee the investment of three of these funds and determine amounts to be disbursed. The largest of the three is unrestricted. The two remaining funds are subject to restrictions specified by the donors. An example is the C. F. Patrick Scholarship Fund, which yearly provides educational scholarships for members of our Parish. The seven remaining funds are financially managed by the trustees but are under the control of the Vestry. The primary objective of the trustees is to preserve and grow capital in order to provide help when a major project or an unforeseen need arises and also to provide funds each year to the Vestry for parish programs. Each year the trustees seek to distribute up to four percent of the three-year rolling average of unrestricted funds under our control. In 2022 we contributed $420,000 to the church for its programs and committed $20,000 for scholarship assistance to parishioners. This year we have pledged $425,000 to the church and at least $20,000 for scholarships. As of December 31 st , 2022, the total value of all ten funds was $13,838,627, of which $9,902,419 represented unrestricted endowment. There are ten trustees. My colleagues are Carl Blackwell, Trigg Brown, Clay Hilbert, Bill Derry, Pem Hall, David Hetherington, Julie Joyce, Kinloch Nelson, and Harold Williams. Our emeritus trustees are Taylor Benson, Rieman McNamara, George McVey, Betsy Seaman, and Fielding Williams. As trustees, we are committed to our leadership in Grace & Holy Trinity by fulfilling the Endowments mission of providing current assistance while preserving capital for future needs.20 | ANNUAL REPORT 2022'
