b'rectors messageWhen the vestry met with me in December of 2020, I was asked about my vision for this Parish. I replied that it was something we would discern together, but that I was certain that God would not have entrusted the abundant blessings of this Parish to so many great people unless it was all meant to be shared more widely in the coming years.Having been freed from many of the pandemic-inspired restrictions we began with, we are now sharing the great heritage of our faith more widely among our fellow Richmonders, and in particular, more inclusively with the next generations. The children are learning from the same stories their parents are hearing every week in the lessons. Our young people are following Jesus Christ by supporting the Red Door ministry and working with Shood to repurpose athletic shoes. Parishioners share their experiences and their faith in the Confirmation Retreats. Parents and children strengthen their own sense of community by taking a break from each other during Parents Night Out. We have blessed the animals, caroled in the park, served breakfasts and hosted receptions in the Parish Hall, and offered Grace & Holy Trinitys exceptional musical gifts in so many ways to everyone in our city. The welcome addition of Paul Evans as Associate Rector and our joyful celebration of his ordination has given our staff and our lovely building the benefit of his managerial experience. His natural pastoral gifts have enriched us all, both within and beyond this Parish. The welcoming of his wife Molly, and now their firstborn son James Henry, has given us all great joy.It is an honor to serve with such a warm, welcoming, and joyfulcongregation. Your generosity with your time, talents, and treasure, inspires my prayers of thanksgiving for each of you. We can all be inspired by the good work this Parish has done together. Let us keep listening to the ways in which we can follow God wherever we are being led to serve. May wecontinue to grow in faith together in the coming year.In Christ,The Rev.
