Highlights
Sunday Worship Moves Online Only Due to Inclement Weather – Sunday, January 25
Due to the expected inclement weather for Sunday, January 25th, Grace & Holy Trinity Church regretfully cancels the in-person Sunday worship services, both 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., parish breakfast, formation, and scheduled meetings or events. In addition, the Church and Parish Office are closed at the close of the work day on Friday. A service of Morning Prayer, Rite Two has been prepared for Sunday and we will send the email out with the recorded service on Saturday at noon. The recorded service can be viewed through the email or by using the “Watch Morning Prayer” buttons on ghtc.org. If there are Church & Parish Office closures and changes to the January 26th–January 30th work schedule will be announced through the Parish News outlets. If you’re not already, subscribe to eNews at ghtc.org/news or follow @graceandholytrinity on Instagram or Facebook.
Please stay safe out there. Blessings!
– In Peace,
Father Brent
Youth Ski Trip – Saturday, January 31
Middle and high school students are invited to go snow skiing and tubing on Saturday, January 31st at Massanutten Ski Resort. We will leave from the church at 7:00 a.m. and return by 6:00 p.m. The cost to attend is $50/person, and one friend is permitted per GHTC youth. Please register your child here by this Monday, January 26th.
Holy Strollers – Saturday, January 31 at 1:30 p.m.
The first stroll of 2026 will be amongst horses, quiet roads, pretty houses, a lake, and winter-time woods as Meredith and Billy McGuire kindly welcome the group to their neighborhood. We will start at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st, at their home, 746 Merry Go Round Road, Manakin-Sabot, VA 23103. The walk is five miles, and it will take about two hours. If you have hiking poles, you may want to bring them, due to uneven terrain. Shoes that can stand up to mud and muck are also a good idea. If you plan to attend, please RSVP with Susan Hankins by visiting ghtc.org/contact and selecting “Holy Strollers” from the drop-down menu or call (804) 938-8440.

Prayers for Healing by the Font Offered During Worship
When prayers for healing are offered, you are invited to come to the prayer station at any time during communion, before or after you receive. The clergy will ask what you wish to pray for and you may share as much or as little as you would like. Then they will pray with you and, if you consent, trace a cross with anointing oil on your forehead. You are always welcome and no prayer is too big or too small!
Ash Wednesday Schedule – Wednesday, February 18
GHTC will have three offerings for Ash Wednesday this year. The 11:00 a.m. Healing Service will include imposition of ashes. Ashes-to-Go will be offered by Clergy in Monroe Park beginning at 12:00 p.m. Finally, a choral Holy Eucharist service for Ash Wednesday will take place in the Church at 7:00 p.m. A livestream is available for this evening service, as is child care.

It will be led by members of our Parish Choir. This will be a way to connect as a community towards the end of the week and experience the beauty and stillness of this ancient service. Please invite others to attend this meaningful and contemplative time of reflection.

Please Wear Your Name Tags
This is a gentle reminder to please wear your name tags when you come to church. Grace & Holy Trinity is fortunate to have visitors and new parishioners joining us each week. Wearing your nametag is an important part of our hospitality to all and a visible reminder to newcomers and lifelong members alike that we are an open and welcoming community. Please pick up your name tags along the wall in the hallway as you enter from the Cherry Street parking lot, and please leave them there when you leave church. If you need a name tag for the first time or if you have misplaced yours, please contact Communications Associate Tyler Brady by visiting ghtc.org/contact.
Beware of Phishing & Other Scams
Please beware of any communication (email, phone calls, texts) purporting to be from members of our clergy, staff, or someone communicating on our behalf. No member of the Grace & Holy Trinity clergy or staff will ever contact you asking you “for a favor,” such as purchasing gift cards. Scammers use these tactics and are more common than you might think. Please be cautious and use good judgment.
