Children & Youth Sunday on May 7
Children & Youth led service with English Breakfast and May Basket Making
The next Children and Youth Sunday will be May 7th. There are many ways children and youth can serve on this day: they might be a lector (reading scripture), an officiant (leading prayers), an usher (handing out programs, collecting the offering), or a greeter (the first friendly face people see as they enter church). Lectors and officiants dress in vestments (provided by the church), and all participants are invited to wear their Sunday best. For more information, contact Kate Given.
As part of Children and Youth Sunday, our parish will celebrate May Day on May 7th, following the service. Everyone in the parish is invited to gather in the Parish Hall for an English breakfast and time to create May Baskets with Catherine Perrin of the Altar Guild. Like Advent Wreath making, creating May Baskets is an activity for all ages. Please bring a small basket and a pair of secateurs, if you have them, and we will provide flowers and greenery to arrange in the baskets. For more information, contact Kate Given.
Along with the other activities on May 7th, the breakfast crew will serve a special breakfast for the entire congregation following the 10:30 a.m. service in the Parish Hall.
