Easter & Holy Week Schedule

 

Palm Sunday (Procession Begins at 10:00 a.m. | Monroe Park)

Sunday, April 13 | 10:30 a.m.
The Sunday before Easter at which Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and Jesus’ Passion on the cross are recalled.

 

Maundy Thursday (Church)

Thursday, April 17 | 7:00 p.m.
Maundy Thursday is the day we remember Jesus gathered with the disciples in an upper room where he washed their feet and shared a meal with them the night before his trial and crucifixion.

 

Good Friday & Stations of the Cross (Worship in Church, Stations of the Cross in Monroe Park)

Friday, 12:00 p.m.
The Friday before Easter Day, on which the church commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus. GHTC will offer two worship services for Good Friday. The first is the Stations of the Cross service in Monroe Park at 12:00 p.m., followed by a choral service in the Church at 3:00 p.m.

 

The Great Vigil of Easter (Choral | Church)

Saturday, April 19 | 7:00 p.m.
The liturgy intended as the first celebration of Easter. The service begins in darkness, sometime between sunset on Holy Saturday and sunrise on Easter, and consists of four parts: The Service of Light, The Service of Lessons, Christian Initiation (Holy Baptism) or the Renewal of Baptismal Vows, and the Eucharist.

 

Easter Day with Brass Quintet – Two Services

Sunday, April 20

Easter Day at 9:00 a.m. (Choral | Church)

Easter Day with Children’s Service at 11:00 a.m. (Choral | Church)
Easter Day is the annual feast of the Lord’s resurrection. GHTC will offer Holy Communion, Rite One at 9:00 a.m. and Holy Communion, Rite Two at 10:30 a.m. on Easter Day.

Easter Lily Memorials

Easter Lily Memorials Now Available – Submission Deadline: Sunday, March 30 (Lent IV)

If you would like to order a lily for Easter Sunday in memory of a beloved family member or friend, GHTC offers a few different ways to submit. To submit in-person, please fill out the Easter Lily Memorial envelopes found on either Connect Table, with the names of those you are remembering, and place it in the offering plate or give it to clergy. You may also pay digitally in two ways; by calling Kathy Schultheis in the Parish Office at (804) 359-5628 x14 or by visiting us online at ghtc.org/give. The cost is whatever you would like to contribute. The deadline to submit is Sunday, March 30th at the end of the day. The memorials will be printed in the Easter Sunday bulletins for both services.
