I have attended Grace & Holy since I was a freshman at VCU in 1973. I’m an X-Ray technologist at Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Hospital having worked in angiography, CAT Scan, and ultrasound and now the Interventional Pain Clinic for 43 years so far.

I have been a fifth and first grade teacher at Grace & Holy Trinity, helped with Sunday RamNation student dinners and at exam time over the years. I served on the Vestry from 2017-2019. I have also been a chalice bearer, greater and usher.

Current: Belize Mission Trip for four years. In charge of the Vision Team in 2023. The 11-member group of missioners and Belizeans screened more than 800 children at six schools. In 2006, I was part of a mission team sent by St. Mark’s Church to help with the relief effort in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina.

Three years ago, I started the Holy Strollers walking and fellowship group. I also participate in Bible Study/Lectio Divina and am a member of the Sunday breakfast crew.

Previously, I served on the adult formation ministry team, taught Sunday School/Godly Play for 10 years, served as a lay reader, CARITAS volunteer, and volunteer with Summer Camp on the Hill.

Professional experience: Reporter, writer and editor for news organizations and state agencies. Proofreader and proposal writer for a consulting engineering firm. I also own and manage rental property.

Education: Richmond Public Schools, St. Margaret’s School, University of the South/Sewanee (B.A.), Virginia Commonwealth University (M.S.)

Interests: Walking, travel, reading, sewing. Since 2015, I have taken five long distance walks, each between 60 and 190 miles long.

GHTC: I’ve been a member of Grace & Holy Trinity Church for most of my life. My husband is Rick Hankins, who also grew up attending GHTC. We have one son, Richard.

I married into Grace & Holy Trinity Church in 1999 and have attended ever since. All four of my children were baptized at GHTC. Over the years, I have become increasingly involved with the church community and currently lead the usher ministry. Getting to welcome our parishioners as they prepare to worship is one of the highlights of my week. I am in my third year on the Vestry and serve as a Trustee for GHTC’s Endowment.

Outside of church, I cherish time with my family – Stewart (my wife of 24 years), Cleighton (21), Luke (17), Wright (17), and Janie (17). I am active in the community and devote much of my free time to St. Andrew’s School where I serve as Past Board Chair. I graduated from Wake Forest University in 1996 and received my MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. I am the Managing Partner of Alpha Omega Wealth Management where I work with an incredible team to serve families and institutional (non-profit) clients.

I am a relatively new member of Grace and Holy Trinity Church, having just become a member approximately four years ago. A lifelong Episcopalian, I was raised in Philadelphia and lived in both Washington DC and New Orleans before moving to Richmond. I am a graduate of Wake Forest University and earned a Master’s of Education from Harvard University. My professional work has included management consulting, teaching at independent/Episcopal schools, school administration, and educational consulting. I currently serve on the Board of Directors at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School.

My husband, Mason, and I are joined by our three children (Patrick, Carter, and Mary) who enjoy all of the youth programming including the youth orchestra, communion class, confirmation retreats, and acolyting. I am an avid reader and enjoy running on the trails along the James River.

Chase Peak was born and raised in Richmond, VA. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance, graduating in 2011. He currently works as a financial consultant for Fidelity Investments and gains great joy bringing confidence in retirement planning to his clients. Chase has been a member of the Grace & Holy Trinity parish choir as Bass Section Leader since 2012. In 2015, he was confirmed by Bishop Shannon Johnston and became an official member of Grace & Holy Trinity Church. He married his wife, Erica, in the church in 2015 and his son, Wells, was baptized at GHTC in 2021. Chase’s father, The Rev. Dr. James Peak, Jr, served as Professor of ethics and church management, and was the CFO of the Baptist Theological Seminary of Richmond for 20 years. His mother, Paige Peak, is a known television personality from the Richmond area in the 1980’s, and is well-known for her marketing roles at HCA and Short Pump Town Center. His wife, Dr. Erica Peak, is a physician at VCU Health and practices Infectious Diseases for both pediatric and adult patients. Chase is excited and honored to serve Grace & Holy Trinity in this capacity and help lead the parish into a new chapter with a new rector.

Courtney Scottow is a life-time member of Grace & Holy Trinity, bringing her family, including husband, Garrett, and two children, James and Emily, into our church community. Courtney has maintained a consistent presence within our church since her childhood. Over the last 12 years, she has contributed her voice to the church choir. She is also serving on the newly formed Formation Committee.

Alongside Courtney’s involvement in the choir, her husband is on the property committee. Courtney’s two children, James and Emily, have enjoyed our children’s activities including the children’s choir. Courtney and her family continue to value their involvement and blessings within our church community.

Outside of church, Courtney is a graduate of University of Virginia and University of Richmond. She currently works in Marketing at Altria.

I was born and raised in Richmond and have been a lifelong member of Grace & Holy Trinity Church. I have served on the Finance Committee for over 15 years, and I am a Trustee of GHTC’s Endowment. I recently joined the Property Committee, and I regularly usher and read at the 10:30 service.

I attended St. Christopher’s School before earning a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia, and later, an MBA in International Finance from Georgia State University. I began my career in Atlanta where I lived for 15 years, met my wife, Suzanne, and where our two children, Drew (30) and Caroline (27) were born.

I have worked in the investment banking field since returning to Richmond in 2000, both at Harris Williams and Dickinson Williams, a firm that I co-founded over twelve years ago. Dickinson Williams provides merger and acquisition advisory services to lower middle market companies across the U.S.

Outside of work, Historic Richmond continues to be another passion of mine. I have served on the Board of Trustees for almost a decade, including as both President and Treasurer.
