Holy Strollers Walk the Richmond Slave Trail – Saturday, May 17 at 9:00 a.m.

Weather permitting, please come for a walk this Saturday, May 17th, starting at 9:00 a.m. We’ll walk the Richmond Slave Trail, a 5-mile round trip. It is an out and back walk. The Slave Trail is fascinating, sobering, and traverses a variety of paths: riverside woods, a bit of the Richmond Floodwall, across the 14th Street Bridge, through Shockoe Bottom, and over to the African Burial Ground on E. Broad Street, near 16th Street. The site is dominated by Interstate 95 next to it. Despite that, the Burial Ground is one of the prettiest green spaces in Richmond – lovely and spiritual, hidden in plain sight. The walk starts at Ancarrow’s Landing, 1200 Brander Street (Richmond, VA 23224), across the James River from Rockett’s Landing. Please RSVP by emailing, calling, or texting Susan Hankins at (804) 938-8440.

Reminder: Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes. A hat and water are strongly encouraged.

This is a gentle reminder to please wear your name tags when you come to church. Grace & Holy Trinity is fortunate to have visitors and new parishioners joining us each week. Wearing your nametag is an important part of our hospitality to all and a visible reminder to newcomers and lifelong members alike that we are an open and welcoming community. Please pick up your name tags along the wall in the hallway as you enter from the Cherry Street parking lot, and please leave them there when you leave church. Scammers use these tactics and are more common than you might think. Please be cautious and use good judgment.
