VCU Commonwealth Singers & Yale Glee Club Concert

Join us at Grace & Holy Trinity Church on January 14th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

The VCU Commonwealth Singers and the Yale Glee Club will perform a concert on Saturday, January 14th, at 3:00 p.m. in the church of Grace & Holy Trinity. After a year in which nearly all of the Glee Club’s activities were virtual, the 2021-22 season saw them return to in-person singing, public concerts, and even a concert tour to California. To kick off 2023, the Glee Club is touring the mid-Atlantic, with concerts in Washington, D.C. and Richmond, VA. A local performance by Yale’s principal undergraduate mixed chorus and oldest musical organization happens only once in a blue moon. Admission is free – all are welcome to attend! 

In recent seasons, the Glee Club has won rave reviews in the national press, from The New York Times (“one of the best collegiate singing ensembles, and one of the most adventurous…and exciting, beautifully sung concert at Carnegie Hall”) to The Washington Post (“Under the direction of Jeffrey Douma, the sopranos – indeed, all the voices – sang as one voice, with flawless intonation…their treacherous semitones and contrapuntal subtleties became otherworldly, transcendent even”).
